Old Spa Robes into Pretty New Swimsuit Coverups

Today, I had some friends from work over for a little art project.

A couple of months ago, we saved some perfectly good spa robes from going into the trash at our job. They were a little thinned and a bit dingy from repeated washing, so they’d been replaced by new thick white ones, but tossing them out seemed wasteful.

We threw in on a couple of tie-dye kits and had a blast this afternoon transforming the old spa robes into pretty new swimsuit cover ups to use at the pool come summer.

This was my first attempt to dye anything and some mistakes were made, but I’m so tickled with how my robe came out that I don’t care. It makes me smile just to look at it. I know I’m going to dye more fabric soon, as many techniques as I can find.
